|The Cape May Convention Hall was razed last week the entire building
was torn down and razed so a new convention hall structure will be built
on Beach Avenue Cape May NJ. The 45 year old convention hall was built in the 1960's after a major hurricane took all the boardwalk
and half the buildings. The Convention Hall stood above the sand on
pier flatforms during the 1960's 70's 80's until the 1990's when the sand project was completed by the Core of Army Engineers, replenishing all the sand that was washed out in the late 1980's during a nor'easter storm. The new structure will begin construction in early spring 2011.
