Black Sigil was such a loveletter to the RPGs of yesteryear. I can't wait to see what genre they will tackle next!

                                      Here, here!

It's a fantastic game and is definitely welcomed in this age. I guess it comes from growing up in the 16-bit era, but this "look" and feel is, to me, the pinnacle of the JRPG. Such greats as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Evermore, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire II and their ilk set a bar that I can't see being surpassed.
Black Sigil has that same "feel." For my generation, its a fantastic trip back to our childhoods as well as a brand new experience; for gamers in general, it's an awesome game!

Thanks to the fine folks at Studio Archcraft! I cant wait to see what you guys cook up next!
Now, now. Let's be fair to both sides here, mmkay? Both sides have good arguments; if they didn't, it would be a cut-and-dried issue and none of us here would be talking about it, right? I do want to point out one fact, though: in California, the Supreme Court ruled that they could not overturn Proposition 8 because homosexuals already had all the same rights and protections as married heterosexuals via civil unions. Whether we call it "marriage" or "domestic partnership" is a matter of semantics if it means the exact same thing in the end.

It's a historical fact that marriage has been the foundation of society for thousands of years. However, it wasn't a religious or government issue until churches got involved and laws were made around it. The reason why governments give protections and benefits to married couples is to make it easier for them to stay together, which has a stabilizing effect on society. I think the real questions here are:

1. Should marriage be a religious or legal matter in the first place?

2. Should married couples be entitled to certain rights and privileges?

3. If encouraging long-lasting heterosexual marriages has a stabilizing effect on society, would changing the definition of marriage or dissolving it altogether have a destabilizing effect on society?

I'm generalizing here, but I honestly don't think most people, myself included, care what people do in the privacy of their own homes regardless of whether they're straight or gay. So I think these three questions are the real crux of the debate, whether we realize it or not.

Personally, I think a short name like "The Black Sigil" or "Blade of the Exile" would be better. But if the marketing team at Graffiti thinks a long title is better, that's fine. It's not really important.

With that said, I'd like to thank Mr. Hurley for stopping by. It's nice when a developer/publisher talks with us average fans.

I see your point but you have to remember that the only way to get your independent point across is to either form an interest group or join one that has a large representation which is why there are so many political parties. If you look at the United States government, the only way "people" are getting their beliefs across is by throwing money at the delegates. That's about the only reason why Obama or Clinton or any politician has so much money; it's because large businesses and interest groups are supporting them. Honestly, no one is going to listen to one person with $100 for support over 1000 people with $100,000 for support. It's true that majoritairism is great where everyone's voice is heard equally but the truth is that politics is all pluralistic. One of the framers of the US constitution, James Madison, wrote in the Federalist Papers # 10 that factions (interest groups) are dangerous but inevitable and that the only way to control the dangers is to control their effects.
